Is a Lung Screening Right for You?

You may qualify for a lung screening if you meet any of these high-risk criteria:

  • Adults between 50 and 80 years old and healthy enough to undergo treatment
  • Heavy smokers with at least 20 pack-years (one pack a day for 20 years, two packs a day for 10 years, or half a pack a day for 40 years).
  • Current smoker or have quit within the past 15 years.
  • Family history of lung cancer.
  • You should have no current symptoms or history of cancer in the last 5 years.
  • You have completed a “shared decision making” session with your physician, smoking cessation counseling (if applicable), and have an order for the exam indicating they have occurred.
